Dipped the paddle in the river today for the first time and the new camera got a soaking in the rain. Never my intention to get dunked, scared the living daylights out of a treeful of pigeons just before Willy Lott`s cottage. I guess in his day they would have found themselves in the cooking pot. Good deed for the day was rescuing an Egyptian Goose gosling, mum and dad had legged it out of the river to the bank a jump of about half a metre. Poor little offspring slid further down the mud wall each time it tried to join his parents. Wedged the kayak into the bank and offered him a lift on a blade and off he went sheltering under mum`s rump. Never quite know if it`s wise to interfere?

Updated both my K10 and K20, also MAK`s K200. My K10 AF appears to be much faster. No difference with my K20. As with HG`s findings the K200 focus at the long end of a Tamron 28 - 300 is a lot less soft.

Should have said it was a Friendship! Scary stuff, engine failure on the grass (pre tarmac days)along comes six wheel landrover with grease monkey behind the wheel. Off come the engine cowlings in go GM`s arms up to the elbows, lots of liquid dribbling out. Cowlings back on thumbs up from GM to the chap up the sharp end. Twiddly thing goes round and round, lights dim and finally a cough and splutter like an asthmatic pigeon and off we jolly well go.

I remember Stan Boardman telling Des O Connor that some of them were Messerchmitts. Same show had Olly Reed on it. Nuff said!

I don`t fly either Tony, well I did once. Flew from Norwich to stavanger way back in 1978. Was in an ancient Fokker with a dodgy engine and bits of trim that flapped around like crazy.

Thanks Hyram,

Shame about the W80. It was compared against the W60 and that had superb IQ but the camera did not meet my needs totally. Just joined another forum to share me pix.

No chance of trading me K10 or K20 though, they really do cook on gas.

£300 not quite but IMHO well worth it, it is well built, handles well and the IQ for a P & S is staggering.
