If stolen from inside your house then it may (or may not depending on policy) be covered under normal contents insurance, for outside the house you would need personal belongings cover and depending on the value of your equipment you may need to specify photographic items seperately and pay an additional premium

Also depends on total value, watch out for individual limits and do not under insure total contents otherwise the claim may be reduced by the appropriate percentage. If in doubt talk to your insurer / broker.

I added mine to my personal belongings for a small premium.

the only one that does not work for me is the mono conversion.
I tend to agree with you, the light was rather drab so had a pop at converting it to B&W since I liked the reflection but it doesn't seem as strong as the other images.

Went for a walk up the Porter Valley in Sheffield the other day. Light was not great but the sun did break through for a short while.

K5iis + DA*16-50 , pp'd in lightroom

I would echo a lot of the comments already mentioned.

Had the original Q and sold this as I'd got a Q7. Build quality is not the same (although used to it now) but the IQ is better and if you like to tinker with your shots in post processing, even a bit of cropping for a better composition then I would go for the larger sensor. If I were buying now I would look to see which option gave the best deal with 01 lens and or 06 15-45 as these are the pick of the bunch. Not tried the wide angle. bit too pricey.

Still fancy the MX-1 but cannot justify it yet !

All excellent. What's the location?
Thanks John, fountain and flowershots are from Sheffield Botaical Gardens, the other building is in Sheffield's Weston Park, the chicken and cakes were at a food fayre whilst the other animals were from Yorkshire Wildlife Park (just realised my 11 year old daughter may have taken the YWP ones as she used the Q7 when we were there).

The Q (all models) is a little gem and these are great examples.
The cakes (pastel de nata) are my favourite cakes, i used to eat them all the time in Portugal
Have to agree, I was quite partial to the cakes in Portugal as well !

I confess to not using the Q7 much but am always pleasantly surprised by its output. Having recently uploaded various shots from the memory card I thought I would share some.

Taken with the excellent 15-45 and 8.5 prime all jpegs processed in lightroom.

John Lewis in Sheffield had a red K50, a K3 in the bottom of a case and no extra lenses. They list current models on their website which you can collect but not try out in store without paying up front.
I was in there the other week, think the red K50 kit was a return and on offer, I did see a DA55-300 WR and the DA50 1.8 in the cabinet although there was no big Pentax branding to highlight these.
