Nice set George, weather hasn't been that kind to us when we have been up there this week!
I think this was the one morning of sunshine since Christmas and it feels like its been non stop rain since.

Thanks Nigel, the light/location was great for these type of shots on the day. The low sun helped with the light under the paragliders plus a little pp in lightroom.

I didn't have my camera as my daughters had theirs (K50 and KS1) so I thought I'd best not take mine as I had to help out. The K50 was free for a couple of minutes so I snapped away. Lovely cameras both the K50 and KS1 (turned the lights off on this).

George

I bumped into some people jumping off Stanage Edge on a lovely December day.

Borrowed my daughters K50 and DAL 18-55 to take a couple of shots.

Spitting Flames.. My Nemesis lol I haven't figured out correct settings to catch flames from the exhaust while panning. At Knockhill the two Honda's were belching flame non stop in the main straight for a good 50 yards, I shot on Hi sped mode for about five laps and on review not a single flame in sight.
I've not intentionally tried panning to catch the flames, always tried a head on shot, or from behind to allow a fast shutter to freeze the flame, still not easy to time it right.

I think we may be on different corners, (although I could be wrong) I stand infield at the exit of the Esses (just before start finish straight) and shoot (through fencing) head on with a faster shutter speed to end up with this sort of shot :

Thinking about it you may be further to the left, cann't remember the backdrop from that postion - I must try more corners next year !

Nice varied set, agree number 6 is a cracker, which corner is that taken from ? I normally see them coming through the chicane on 2 wheels but the background is not as pleasant.

Number 9 catches my eye as well, nicely done. Spitting flames brought a smile to my face, I've tried to get these type of shots with a very poor hit rate.

Hopefully catch up with you at Donington, Oulton Park or Silverstone which are the 3 I tend to go to if i'm free.

Thanks for sharing

I trust you'll be recording the occasion with a Spotmatic, or perhaps a K1000...
I would struggle with film Simon, I have to confess to never taking a camera to a gig (other than a phone). I prefer to watch and listen to the band whilst surviving a few hundred middle aged balding men jumping up and down gasping for breath !

If you can get there Drew, you should pop along - Roxy (02 Academy)

Back on topic Drew, think you'll just have to pick a date and go for it.

I cannot make the 18th as I'm off to see the Damned that night, following week could be a bit hit and miss depending on the day.

Would you sell the 18-135 seperately ?
