Before trading it in I thought I should offer it here first.

K5ii, Shutter count 40600 - plenty of life left. (I think shutter is rated to 150,000). Originally purchased by me from SRS.

Well looked after, couple of specs in viewfinder and couple of marks on baseplate if you look closely. other than that I would class it in very good condition. Screen protectors on both LCD screens.

Comes boxed with all accessories.

£275 including postage

Will post some pictures later / if any interest otherwise it will be traded in.

Regards

George

Hi, I've got the Q7 which has the same sensor as the Q-S1 (and the MX-1 I believe) .

I used to have the Q but moved to the Q7 when one came up at a good price as the images (sensor) is a lot more forgiving in post processing.

As well as the moon picture I posted recently using the Pentax Q to K adapter I've also posted some other random shots in another thread here link

From a practical viewpoint, it is difficult to use in bright sunshine as the rear screen is hard to see, as would be the same with most systems without a viewfinder. Its main advantage is the size of it, and it isn't as off putting as a DSLR pointing at someone.

I guess if you have large hands the size may be more of a problem but its fine for me.

I tend to shoot in manual mode with auto ISO, very similar to TaV on the Pentax DSLRs other than there is no exposure compensation so if need be I may change metering mode or switch to Av or Tv depending on priority of the shot.

I have 2 lenses that I use, the 01 prime which is excellent and the 06 Zoom which is also excellent for its size and my preferred lens of the 2. The lenses do feel a little plastic but the quality of the output from these two is very good.

Being used to pentax menus it is very easy to use, Battery life is not great hence I tend to carry a couple of spares with me. I do like to look at the pictures I've just taken which doesn't help the batteries.

I confess to not using it as much as I should but then I normally have a DSLR with me so it gets occasional outings rather than my go to camera.

Here's one I pushed a bit in lightroom link

Hope this helps.

George

Here's one from tonight with the 1.4 converter. Not cropped.

There did seem to be a bit more cloud / haze tonight so may even be able to get a sharper one later or another night.

Interestingly our family has 3 KS-1's, My twin daughters got one for their birthday last year.

They were the special editions, a blue Soda and Strawberry kits (good price as well)- sound a lot worse than they look in the flesh. In fact I think the original adverts for these made them (colours) look a lot brighter than they are in reality. I was impressed and my 12 year old daughters love them. Note : I turned the lights off from day one and they have never been on since.

Then Amazon France were selling white bodies for 199 euros so I picked one up and its often been the second camera in my bag as it takes up less space. The sensor does seem to be very good, step up from the K5's.

I think Richard summed it up quite well and for the price it would be hard to beat. (can be picked up in UK for £229 now) I do miss 2 wheels though especially if you shoot TaV, unlike the K5's you cannot adjust exposure compensation in TaV mode on the KS1 which annoys me being used to a K5 / K3.

Couple of recent pictures, jpegs with minimal adjustment in lightroom
