Photographing Blur at the Pyramid Stage Glastonbury, it doesn't get much better than that for music photography.

When Damon Alburn broke down on stage that night I completely got that moment, it was just how I felt. I had worked so hard to get to that point & that 15 minutes in the photo pit was the pinnacle of 2 years hard work.

But there is a clear difference between a police officer & police community support officer.

If a complaint is made by the public then the police have to investigate it. The majority of these stories start of with either a security warden or a PCSO getting their knickers in a twist about what you can & cannot photograph.

It is the power mad I have a uniform brigade that are the problem. By the way I am not a police officer or PCSO

If you buy a grey imported lens from a UK store seller then you are still covered by the sale of Goods Act, however warranty with Pentax maybe an altogether different issue.

Grey imports is a term made up by manufacturers to protect markets.

Someone has already mentioned the EU and the 4 laws;

* The free movement of goods;
* The free movement of capital;
* The free movement of services;
* The free movement of persons;

This law has already been tested by Levis who successfully stopped Tesco from selling their goods at discounted prices in their stores. The goods where purchased from outside the EU then imported by Tesco. Levis successfully argued that the goods supplied to the merchant outside the EU where only licensed to be sold within that territory. The decision had more to do with trademark law than trading laws.

More information here for those with the time....

2 of the contact pins on my grip have gotten stuck in the grip. Anyone have any ideas how to release them???

I have removed the top of the grip but there is no access to inside the pin holder.

Cheers for any responses

I have used photobox pro which is free & you never know you might sell one of your images, which they pay into either paypal or straight into your bank.

Having seen many of these photographer V police situations, they all seem to stem from some idiot security person who has no idea of the laws of this country. Take the security guy at the Gherkin (spelling??)He clearly does not know the law yet, had hesitation in calling the police, who then having received the call have to investigate it, I feel if I was in a similar situation as soon as the security guy called the police, I would also be calling them to report a case of harassment & wasting police time. I also liked the irony in the way both police & security claim it is an iconic building, surely this even more of a reason for people to photograph it, bhoth tourist & UK citizens!!!

The italian girl was absolutely right to stand up to that idiot PCSO. He clearly had no idea about what he can & cannot do, I certainly would have pointed out to him it is a crime to impersonate an officer which is what he was doing. Under the PCSO specifications laid out their basic rights are the same as you & me along with being able to issue fines for dog fouling. There are certain laws which local authorities have allowed PCSOs to carry out, but these are for very minor offences usually. We also now have the problem with Community Support officers who are employed by the council & they are different kettle of fish altogether & you will need to look at the local council website to see their remit.

Until a dodgy bullying PCSO is brought to court for impersonating an officer then these situations will surely continue. Unfortunately all that will happen is they will lose their job which will go unreported, so the problems will just continue.
