they all fit, although the older ones (K and M style) take a bit more work to get the metering right. To be safe I'd stick with the A lenses and later to enhance your enjoyment and minimise your frustration.

My old ones are all K and some M with just one A and the A is by far the easiest to work with

Ashraf stores in Bahrain used to sell Pentax when I was there (maybe Ashrafs are no longer there), but I had a friend buy my LX when he went to Hong Kong in 1981 as that was the cheapest option back then as the Bahraini Dinar was very strong

Nope the KY is the new 'entry' model in which there is no improvement in IQ, AF, FPS or any other parameter but where the price has more than doubled...in other words you just got shaf**D

But seriously, why the longface? as the barman said to the horse...these aren't cameras, they are computers with interchangeable lenses and as such are subject to Moore's Law... I think it is refreshing that they are replacing models so quickly as it shows they are proactive and on the ball...tooling ain't what it used to be and we live in a time of constant model upgrades and replacements...most of the time people are moaning that Pentax don't innovate or respond quickly enough after the competition and are left standing with 'old' technology.

You want the 'biased' camera mags to get excited about Pentax again? Then praise them for refreshing their model range quickly and often with tweaks and upgrades and replacements. Perception is reality and if they are seen to be renewing themselves quickly and often the mags will lacth onto this...this is what the mags need for column inches...and yes the Km and K20 are not old but equally in computer terms they are ancient if you view them like this and subject to Moore's Law....a lot can change in technology in 18 months

Perhaps someone can explain this better, but I read somewhere that when you use a 'full frame' coverage lens (as opposed to one designed for the smaller PS-c sensor) on an APS-c sensor you benefit from a potentially sharper image since it is only recording the light from the central part of potential image plane that lens can resolve to, thus avoiding some of the problems that occur towards the edges of a lens's coverage.

I am sure I have used the wrong terminology but someone here can clean this up and explain it better I am sure..or alternatively put me right

I just don't like what I see through the electronic viewfinder of the Panasonic. In all other respects I found it an interesting and attractive camera. The EVF is a dealbreaker for me, even though the logic of the OP makes sense

Good advice, as the debutante model will often over-pose or be in some other way trying too hard due to nerves or lack of experience etc making it very hard to work with her/him to get the kind of shots you require. Take their mind off what they are doing and you could get some gems

seems to be a recurring theme, not just in the UK. Pentax make great, innovative, user-friendly products, but their sales and marketing is dire the world over. They need some new aggressive people in at the top to drive them forward so they don't just disappear through apathy
