Pentax DSLR K-m lenses?

Hi Helga. Any Pentax lens will work on your KM. That's the beauty of the Pentax system. Some, of course, you will have to focus yourself. Some you will have to make metering adjustments in the camera. But they will work. My suggestion on your next zoom lens is the very nice Pentax 50-200 or for a little more money, the 55-300. And as you mentioned, a nice fast 50mm is nice. BTW....I think the KM is a great little camera!
Pentax K-5, Tamron 17-50, Tamron 70-300, Metz 50 AF-1 flash, and working on buying more lenses in the future. It never ends.

Yes any Pentax K mount lens will fit and work withthe K-m, as long as it's set up for them.
I'd suggest you play with the standard lens and decide where you want to go.
Some will advise one lens, others a different one, but unless you know what you want to do you could spend a lot of money and never use your purchase!

Thanks, by 'any' pentax... even ,say, a twenty year old zoom lens?? As for what I want to do - some close up work, so some sort of macro lens?

they all fit, although the older ones (K and M style) take a bit more work to get the metering right. To be safe I'd stick with the A lenses and later to enhance your enjoyment and minimise your frustration.
My old ones are all K and some M with just one A and the A is by far the easiest to work with

One of my lenses is over 25 years old and whilst I need to focus and sort out exposure - IT STILL WORKS.

that's a new lens compared to my Carl Zeiss 35mm M42 one, it must be going 40 now and still produces fantastic results with an adaptor!
