K7 Prices

Not sure if people are aware of this but I have found a store online that is selling the K7 for a great price.
The company is based on the Isle of Man and apparently they bulk buy their stock and pass on the savings to the customer (hmmm I heard that before)

Ok they aren't a dedicated photographic shop like SRS and their advice won't be spot on, but are the prices coming down already?

What might be more interesting to some is the K20D price from Simply Electronics. In stock (apparantly), and free delivery for £489.95.

Buyer beware, if you're happy dealing with a grey importer then go ahead but they are actually a company based in Hong Kong, have a close look at their T&Cs http://www.simplyelectronics.net/terms.php

All stock from Simplyelectronics is grey import.
A lot of threads from other forums saying how slow they are with many having to get refunds from their creditcard.

Yes I can vouch for Mike's comments. I have also seen many a story in other forums regarding this company, no smoke without fire

I think they are a genuine business, but being based in Hong Kong there will inevitably be delays and hassles if anything goes wrong.

I have just noticed that SRS have dropped the price for the body only, but not the kits.

It also isn't grey import since he sells stock intended for his country so if you import it Pentax UK will not find it a problem.

Since they're shipping from Hong Kong, don't forget to add Duty and VAT to their prices.

You also lose out on the warranty and any UK consumer protection laws. Considering some of the QC issues some have had with the K-7 (which you can have with any such items) I would only ever purchase from reputable dealers. In the end, it could save you a fortune. I've no problem purchasing from abroad (I've spent thousands with B&H in the USA) but only because of great reputations and recommendations.

That's annoyed me, see I didn't look at the T's & C's...I knew it was to good to be true.
That is extremely misleading on their behalf!

K20D is available at Cameranu.nl for €580...dutch prices are good at the moment however since the models are 'K20D Nederlands' I would have to invest in some dutch lessons to understand the instruction manuals...

It seems we have Benelux stock since I also got a French manual with my K10D.

The price for the bodies aren't that spectacular you need to compare the lens price since the big price raise last months in the UK the lenses here seem quite cheap now. the DA*50-135 for example is £685 here while SRS has them for £879. It really isn't SRS fault but it's very stupid from Pentax since the prices aren't equal everywhere. For £200 difference I don't see why you wouldn't oder from here, it's the same lens after all.

You of course don't get UK stock but it isn't grey import since you bought the lens at the shop it was intended to sell that stock meaning pentax will honour the warranty so far as I know.
