Direct Photo Preview

I'm doing a photo shoot tomorrow of Tara's pups, what I would like know is, is it possible to connect my K20 direct to my laptop and as I take the photos they appear on the laptop, do I need special software or will it work with the USB cable connected, if you know what I mean that is

You'll need the special remote software.

The software is bundled with the K20D but obviously it'll need setting up on the PC you're using. Also, it's not particularly intuitive so it'd be best to have a practice with it before using it in anger so to speak.

Pentax Remote Assistant came bundled with the K20D. If you don't have it, you can download it directly from link. Clic on "support and service", then scroll down the "news" window till you find it. As was noted before, you are better off with a little practice at home before trying it on a job. Good luck, and let us know how everything works out.

Thanks for the help lads, I sorted the software out but it was to much messing about so I just got on with the photos, here is about the best one but I had lots of problems with the exposure so it has been doctored quite a bit.

Yes, the Pentax Remote software is a bit rubbish (and I understand it's been dropped entirely for the K7 which speaks volumes).

You did well with the photo above though - can't have been easy to get them to stay still, look at the camera *and* take the shot all at the same time! Sort of job I'd have run a mile from

Great shots and you can always make a second income as a dog whisperer...they say never work with children or animals and you just pulled it off with 'animals who are also children' (puppies)...great work

Looks a bit too soft (and cuddly) for a macro lens.

I agree, I gave it a try however without any Live View it kind of makes it redundant for anything I would do.

Yes I agree, a lot of flapping around for nothing.
