Last night I had yet another opportunity to attempt captures of the Northern Lights here in Trondheim. The nights are slowly getting less dark, so within a few weeks it will probably not be possible to observe strong Northern Lights here before next winter. It is becoming obvious to me that a 24mm on APS-C camera is too narrow to capture the Northern Lights in all its splendor, at least when the Lights are high on the skies/in zenith. Therefore I also brought along my MX and took one film (Fuji Provia 400X) with the FA*24 f2.0. Hopefully some of these will turn out interesting! Anyway the images below were taken with my K20D and the above mentioned lens. C & C are welcomed!

Oh, the bright shining "star" on some of the images is (if I am not completely mistaken) the planet Venus.

I would like to buy a hood for my Pentax 67 105mm f2.8 lens (PH-SB67).
Has anybody got this hood that they do not use, and would consider selling? Please send PM!

My favourites are number 3 and 4. The expression of the motive in number three is quite amusing

I hope you have come to terms with your Sigma lens? I have no experience with long Sigma lenses, but your lens seems to produce good images

Thank you Lee and Roger for your kind and helpful comments! I find shooting birds quite a difficult task, but I guess practice over years will give results. When attempting to take photos of for instance the Heron, I find it extremely difficult to get close enough. I guess I have to do some studying of field techniques (how to move in the terrain quietly) and appropriate clothing. Most often my Heron images end up like this
