Thanks Robin! It has really been interesting to hear your experiences and learn more about these lenses. Although I already have decided to go for the A50mm f1.2 (it is on its way from Austria), the FA43 is at the top of my "wish list" for future indulgence in mild/moderate LBA

Thanks guys! I have been doing some research on prices and availability, and ended up with ordering a Heliopan 52mm short metal hood from Teamwork Digital, and I will check how it works with both the A50mm f1.2 and my K28mm f3.5. I also like the design with double threads, thus being able to keep it permanently attached to a lens and using the original cap.

Thank you for your informative comment! I like the idea of a threaded metal hood for the A50mm f1.2. I already have a square 52mm hood (PH-S52) that I use on my K28mm f3.5, and that theoretically will fit the A50mm, but it is quite shallow and flimsy. Would it be possible to use the same kind of threaded hood for both these lenses?

I am selling my SMC 15mm f3.5. I purchased the lens from a camera shop for a very good price, with the description that it suffered from balsamic separation. I sent the lens to Robin at Harrow Technical, and he discovered that there were in fact no problems with the lens elements, it was just full of dirt. He did a complete dismantle of the lens and cleaned it up. After this service Robin meant that the lens was in Ex++ (light use) condition.

I initially purchased the lens for Northern Lights photography. But I discovered that that my DA12-24mm is much more suitable for this task, due to it being wider and sharper wide open. Having said that, when stopping the SMC 15mm f3.5 down to f5.6 it really becomes very sharp across the whole frame.

I am looking at GBP 450,- which includes insured postage to the UK through the Norwegian postal service.
