To cut a long story short, i now own 2 AF500 FTZ's one with an intact hot shoe and one with a broken one. I'm looking at using both of them (one a slave) in some 'home studio' style shoots. My issue is that i'm going to truck through batteries like nobody's business so, i'm looking at constructing a power supply for it. Has anyone else done so?

Cold never helps, but i'm using Some GP 2700Mah Nimh recheargabes. I also used some Energizer lithiums at £10 a pop. They seemed to drain really quickly but then after the shot was done 'regained' their power. Going to take a hot water bottle next time i think

So, this is what i got up to a few nights ago up at winscar reservoir. About 10PM and -3. Couldn't feel my fingers at this point. Consequently the 'water splash' shots didn't come out too good. I'm still having serious battery issues. I do well to get 2 minutes of exposure with one set. I'm thinking of paralleling up a load of 6v batteries and going in on the power socket on the side. Anyone else tried anything like this?

I had an issue a few years ago when i found totally by accident, some of my photos on a company's banner on the homepage of their website. I let them know of my disapproval in what they's don and told them that if they gave me a credit for them they could use them. They just took them down

Maybe, cassette cases could be the solution to the problem. I think that audio cassette tapes might be too thin but camcorder tape cases might be more suitable. Got to be worth a try next time you're rummaging around in your loft

I noticed the dust after my first day out. I gave it a good clean and all seemed fine. Then, guess what... Back it comes. Grrrrr

Yeah, nice clear skies, not like last time i was down there. The police didn't like it at 8pm saturday night @ picadilly circus. Security didn't like it at Tower Bridge either. Jobsworths i think as i wasn't causing an obstruction or on private property. I also saw a bloke get escorted away from an underground platform for taking photos with an SLR!

So, i've just spent 4 days in London. Did a lot of walking and a lot of snapping. Also got told off a lot for using a tripod Never mind though, If at first you don't succeed.... Got a few, good, long exposure shots anyhow. Hope you all enjoy

Cheers Jeff! I'm going to London this weekend. I'm going to try and do some of these in the city maybe at some famous landmarks.

The main problem i have is that the batteries appear dead when they're 'mid-photo' but then when i get home and put them in the charger, they take about 5 minutes to charge. I think it's time for some new ones

I'll pick up some Energizer Lithiums today, just in case. I should have a chance to recharge at the hotel, but if not, maybe they'll come in handy.
