Image theft

Not sure if this has been mentioned recently, but:
Ever wondered if your images are being stolen?
Try going to google and searching by Image. In the search bar, click the little blue camera icon, then upload an image, or enter a URL to the image you think might be worth stealing.
Interesting, what Google knows about; in this case I'm happy it can trace my images

I have a different experience. whenever i key in my name (ajay ghatage) in the search bar for images it throws up photos uploaded by me in various forums. it also shows pentaxuser.co.uk don't know whether this can be termed image theft.

Don't thnk so as you uploaded them for viewing on a public site?

No that is not image theft. You uploaded the photos for public viewing of your own free will.

Image theft is when someone else uses your photo, and either claims it as their own or fails to credit you for it when using it for commercial purposes, or sometimes even both.

I had an issue a few years ago when i found totally by accident, some of my photos on a company's banner on the homepage of their website. I let them know of my disapproval in what they's don and told them that if they gave me a credit for them they could use them. They just took them down

Lets hope that we are never accused of image theft from somebody in the US. The way things look at the moment we are likely to be shipped off by our government at the drop of a hat (stetsun).

How does plagiarism work? What if a renowned US artist accuses you of plagiarism? Quick extradition to USA to answer the charges? Maybe this will all be cleared up by the impending SPOA legislation?

Why do we bother with English law since US and European law seem so often to trump our own rights?

We already have a lot of nasty stuff in the bill that was quickly passed when Labour lost power..... it's just not been used.... Yet!!!

Given Megauploads and Link 2 has just been taken out and the owners arrested downunder for alleged copyright crimes in the US.

How soon till Flickr gets the same treatment??? I see loads of copyright images on there.

And why doesn't Google get banned like that TV link site?
