Thanks for all the feedback, this is why this forum is so good. I am in no position to buy a K5 and K7 is out of my price range, I'm going to go to a shop later and hold a K-r and see how it feels, I love the K20D as a camera but to be honest it has so many features I do not use and I find myself wondering how many I will actually miss. Video will be a nice extra and of the live view is better than the K20D then that'll suit me.

Hi, just a quick question to anyone who has gone from a K20D to a K-r or has both. Would you consider it a step forwards, backwards or sideways and how does the image quality compare? I was considering selling my K20D and not buying another camera until the end of the year but now I am being tempted by K-R as I wouldn't need to put much extra towards one if I sold the K20D (credit card can wait!). I would like a better live view and as much as I like the size of the K20D it does seem to feel a lot heavier after a few hours of lugging it around even for a lump like me.

Thanks

I won't be selling to a shop, no matter how good the shop is they obviously will never offer the real price as they need to make a profit. If I sell it will probably go on here or/and ebay.

Thanks for the input so far.

Hi, I'm considering selling my Gear to pay off my credit card and then saving up for some new stuff after Xmas. Can anyone tell me (honestly) how much a Pentax K20D in good condition with batteries, charger, manual etc is worth these days? Looked on ebay but only one on there at the moment.

Thanks in advance

I bought my K20D off a forum member but it came without the cap for the flash sync and also the rubber bit that comes off the bottom when you attatch the grip I didn't think anything of it at forst but then tried looking for the bits online and came across this link only thing was when it came it did not fit my K20D and after contacting the seller and being told it must fit I gave up.

Good luck finding one, been looking for one for my K20D for ages. Got one from hong kong through ebay but it turned out to be the wrong size.

The DA 55-300 is a better lens, some also sell the DA-L version which is quite a bit cheaper maybe that's an option?
I'm working on it but I've ran out of stuff to put on ebay!

Thanks guys, I want the lens for a bit of everything from taking photos of birds on my fence to animals at zoos and obviously my kids. I have just sold my old sigma 70-300 APO because my shoulder has been giving me grief and I want a lighter lens, maybe a newer version of the sigma will be lighter. I'm edging away from the Tamron now as when at the the seaside with the family or even in the garden I take photos of birds just for the hell of it we are also RSPB members so this lens is looking like a no.

Thanks again

Also in what kind of situation is the purple fringing likely to occur? I have seen the term used and sort of know what it means but I do not fully understand what kind of situation will cause it.
