Hi, I'm considering selling my Gear to pay off my credit card and then saving up for some new stuff after Xmas. Can anyone tell me (honestly) how much a Pentax K20D in good condition with batteries, charger, manual etc is worth these days? Looked on ebay but only one on there at the moment.

Thanks in advance

Camkins of cambridge only offered me £100 for mine against a K5 which I thought was an insult. They gave me more for my K10D Two years ago, I was expecting around the £300 mark.

I wouldn't expect £300 from a dealer as they have to make a profit and offer warranty but £100 is daylight robbery.

How does £125 sound? .. that's 25% more

They also have to pay VAT, but I think it's just on the profit?
Half Man... Half Pentax ... Half Cucumber

Pentax K-1 + K-5 and some other stuff

I won't be selling to a shop, no matter how good the shop is they obviously will never offer the real price as they need to make a profit. If I sell it will probably go on here or/and ebay.

Thanks for the input so far.

that's very low price...but they need to make a profit....
k20D is still very fine camera....i would say 250-275 quid depending on condition would be fair

I have sold through both classifieds and shops. Without exception I have ended up with more money and less hassle when sold through a shop.

If selling privately, buyers will expect you to sell for less than they have to pay at a shop, so only want it at a bargain price, unless it is in high demand.

I would give Ffordes a call, they were recommended to me, and I have bought and sold there several times. They value you item, pick it up and clean/inspect and advertise it. For this they take 20%, and probably achieve a higher price as people are happy to buy from them.

"Looked on ebay but only one on there at the moment"

Try searching on completed sales, rather than current listings, then you will see the going rate.
