I have lost that tiny screw-in flash sync cap on my body and I want to buy a replacement. If anyone here's got one lying arround, please send me an offer on PM.

Cheers, Luka

How can that thing cost a fiver!!!!!

I replaced mine with one from an old ME Super
It's almost impossible to get the original one out then of course you lose it.
It's a ridiculous design! I can't believe the excellent Pentax designers came up with that!

Michael

Considering that SRS will have to provide a Jiffy Bag plus free First Class postage to a forum member and employ people to process the order then they are not exactly making a killing.

It's easy to be outraged by any price, but breaking it down from manufacture to distribution to retailer to end user and there are a lot of costs on the way.

The K7 and K5 bodies are pretty much the same and the caps look identical.

Might as well buy the correct part for £4.95 rather than something else from the USA for not much less?

John, I agree with you about buying the correct part. But then again, I get 10 aftermarket ones for the same price, so I can loose 9 more and still don't have to worry

Cheers, Luka

They don't look like screw fit though, so whether they will fit or not we don't know.

Don't lose any more could be good advice! A tip: use a small ring pouch, as used by jewellers, and store tiny parts in that when not in use. I use such a thing for the hotshoe cover and it avoids it becoming mislaid.

I am sure my Z1P strap had a little storage pocket built in.

That is a good piece of advice. But I didn't misplace it. I lost it the moment I screwed it off the body as it fell out of my hand... Bad patent IMO. It should be a plain rubber cap, attached to the body.

I keep my bits and bobs safely in an old film canister. If only I could find it.
