Price, I was looking for value for money that would allow me to try out my new hobby. Don't regret my choice as I have learnt so much using my K100d - am looking at a K20d now, but might wait to see if a new Pentax SLR brings the price down - what do you think, should I wait?

Read the thread - I will try to get up there Sat at 10am. I spent 2 days up there with a local photographer (Ilann from Edwinstowe). He took me to the coast too - fab two days, learnt how to use Av and have fun. This is the website Ilann set up for me. Some images from Sherwood, some from the coast.

I would love to get up to Sherwood Forest as I was introduced to my K100D there a year ago whilst on a beginner's course. I don't get much time on this website as it is exam time BUT I would love to meet up with other Pentax people as I need help with my photography and my next purchase (hoping to get a K20d soon). Give me a time and I will attempt to find it again and be on time. Beverley

As a complete beginner BUT horsey too - the two horses were, compositionally, OK. The image with the one horse was 'strange' perspectively (if there is such a word). The whitish horse was much more interesting, where the chestnut was not at all interesting. I have only commented on the content of your images. I do not feel confident enough to comment on the settings, manipulations etc. The image with the two horses if, by far, the most interesting and technical of the images and I liked it - the image with the single horse does not span at all and the image is uncomfortable and 'jangly'. That is, obviously, my personal opinion BUT that is what you asked for - photography or subject!!!!

Went to the Focus on Imaging - found 'some' pentax gear and asked a few questions of the Pentax uniformed representatives. They were happy to explain that Pentax felt the £45 000 being asked for a stand was too steep in this economic climate. They also said that Hoya taking over would 'take a while' to settle down. BUT it did feel a bit odd just seeing a few 'bits' of kit in the corner of some odd shelves.

This is such a fab answer, and I understood all of it (I'm a wee beginner) - I like the idea of some backlight and had thought about that, didn't know about the flash (thanks) I was going to play with the exposure - if the dog lets me!!

I am 'helping' a friend out by photographying her very black dog on Sunday. She wants a few outside action shots then a portrait one inside - any tips? Lighting advice for inside would be good, maybe a bit of help with exposure too. Thanks in advance.

Had another look just now and I have changed my mind - there is one image that takes my breath away. Good luck everyone, especially my favourite.

Wow!! Now that has got to be the best idea I have heard this year. I have used the 100 yards measure as the crow flies - OK?
