That's an odd page. £321 for the full product or £549 for the upgrade....!

Getting rain in the eyepiece is most annoying I have found...

Well I think I already replied to the original thread here and also added my bit to the other forum.

My anecdotal account is of a SDM failure on my 16-50mm. Now as I'd read all the forum posts on this exact problem I too thought like John it was just hot forum air... until mine failed within a week. So from my perspective I had a 100% failure rate. It was a used example and LCE had it fixed (motor replaced) within 5 days so I'm happy enough. I would never buy one of these on Ebay though, only from a dealer or a trusted source.

So because of this experience I cannot help being disillusioned by SDM, those stories are by no means nonsense, if anything is to go wrong it's likely to be the SDM.

You made me take a look...

Sigma 28mm 1.8 they are selling for £195 - that also seems a good price if anybody is interested.

I'm still hoping to be wrong....

- However unless I'm missing something the supplied Pentax software DOES NOT apply the lens corrections. It does have manual correction adjustments but nothing that takes account of the embedded information.
(I'd read this on the dpr review and on elsewhere before I bought my K7 and was slightly miffed to find I'd been misled.)

If you are happy using jpg and don't mind the slowdown in continuous shooting then turn on those features, otherwise disable those options.

OMG! yes 13 weeks and I've got my cash - back.

This is the very first time I've made a cashback claim and I don't really understand what they are all about. Someone somewhere, but I presume not Pentax, has been sitting on my £100 for 13 weeks and investing it in something or other. Meanwhile Pentax has made a sale which it may have not had otherwise.
However 13 weeks on and the K7 has come down in price far more than that £100 at about the same time the cashback offer expired. Why didn't they just drop the price by £100 back in November.

Nope, I'm still waiting, but more hopeful after Hyram received his.
