Thanks for noticing that I will check to see if that blob is repeated on other shots, it may simply be an out of focus mark on the white panel. It isn't, as yet, any 'sensor smear' spotting.

I've now another K-5 from Jessops stock, 391xxxx serial number. Came with firmware 1.01 already installed. So far so good:

Jessops have ordered me another K-5 which should be in on Tuesday so hopefully that one will be a keeper, they have let me keep my K-5 to use until then.

Although I checked this at the shop and when I got it home and reported 'all clear' in the poll... however after about 230 shots:

Oh joy - I too have ordered one from Jessops. I can see I'm going to be spending some time testing it in the shop while some Jessop clod is telling me I should have bought a Nikon

Well I do hope that the cashback scheme this time is a little better managed. Look back to an earlier thread discussing the never-ending saga of claiming the cashback last time it was offered.
My point is that sometime between the time of initial purchase, and the actual receipt of the cashback, the shop price will have dropped anyway to less than the cashback gave you.

Mine is derived from my initials, or wot some people call me. It started as my Cix username back in 1994 and as it's usually free I use it on many online fora.
