Thanks for the info. I do have one annoyance with the K7, and that is that so many features only work with jpeg files....seems like this is another one. Also, I didn't get any software with my camera, so I guess I will go and ask the shop I bought it from for a copy.

Not being much of a tech wizard, I am a bit confused by some of the features on my K7. Recently I have been wondering how much difference the lens correction features (distortion and chromatic aberration) on the K7 make: more specifically, how much it reduces the difference between a kit lens (I have the two WR kit lenses) and a higher spec lens that the camera does not correct. Or is the camera not doing anything that can't be done with software? Is what is done in-camera in any way comparable to say, DXO Optics Pro software, which has a database of lenses, images from which can be corrected automatically? I have also wondered if using this feature in any way affects the quality of the image. I would be most grateful if someone could explain exactly what the lens correction function does, as I am a bit confused!

The 70-150mm was a K mount, but I did not really look at it so not sure what model it is. They said they have had these lenses a long time, they are not a Pentax stockist. I went in to try and get a PKA adaptall mount, which unfortunately they did not have, and he pulled out the three lenses.

Thanks for the info, I bought the lens at Wildings in Bolton. They've got a few other Pentax lenses, a 70-150 which I did not bother looking at too much as one of my WR kit lens covers the same range, and a 50mm Pentax-A f1.7. Maybe I should have asked more about that one? I will try out the lens properly tomorrow, it is in perfect condition and I am looking forward to using it!

Aplogies if anyone has asked about this lens already, I just picked one up in a shop this afternoon for £30 and was wondering if it was a good price and how this lens is rated, it's in near perfect condition and seems to work OK but I will wait for daylight to try it out properly. What is the difference between this and the M series version, it seems to work the same way with no extra features that I can find, ie uses stop-down metering or the green button to get the exposure and appears to only use spot metering? Am I missing something?

Ah ok got it now, the metering seems fine at all apertures, very peculiar that the foregroungd and background move in relation to each other at different apertures though... never seen anything like it. Also can't seem to get any dof preview....
I have binned the 28-80, its too scratched to be any use. Though kept the second element, have to think of some use for it.

I have got an Auto-Chinon 28mm f2.8, but the aperture ring does not change the aperture when mounted on the camera. Takes nice pics at f2.8 but would like to be able to use it at all apertures. What am I doinfg wrong? Would this work for macro with a set of tubes?
