Thanks John, just seen someone sold one on here for £12, so I will bin the 28-80. May as well play with the Chinon lens though, but can't really think why I need it. I turned down a free Clubman 70-150 macro, can't find any trace of them on the net, has anyone ever heard of it?
Still searching for a cheap macro lens.......

I have just been given one of these lenses but have a slight problem. It looked like it had a badly scratched filter on it, but when I unscrewed the filter (in fact it popped out, it's held in place by 2 metal rings) I found out it was not a filter at all but appears to be the front element, about 3mm thick, behind whgich is another, much thicker, element that seems to be held in place by the front element. The thicker second element is fine, but the front one is badly scratched. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement front element? Also, is this lens any good? It seems to get mixed reviews.
I was also given an Auto-Chinon 28m f2.8 lens, in very good condition, which I have never heard of. Any info much appreciated!

At the moment the only lenses I have for my K7 are the two WR kit lenses. Would these work ok with tubes? Otherwise, does anyone have any suggestions on a cheap manual lens that would work ok with extension tubes? Ideally I'd like a dedicated macro lens but can't afford one at the moment.

As people may have noticed from my previous posts, I am looking for a way to shoot macro on the cheap. Been unemployed 3 moths so a bit skint!

I was looking at some extension tubes on ebay, and came across this method of using extension tubes without any contacts with a lens with no aperture ring:

1. Mount a lens on camera body;
2. Adjust aperture to preference;
3. Press the depth of field preview button.
4. While keeping the button pressed - unmount lens from camera body - aperture stays locked on selected value.
5. Mount the lens on macro bellow.

To open aperture again mount the lens back on camera body.

Would this actually work? If so, would it possibly damage the lens?

It's on ebay with about 5 hrs left and the highest bid is 99p! But I guess it can't be very good if no-one is intersted.

Does anyone know anything about this lens? Found one very cheap and wondering if it is worth buying? Can't seem to find any reviews online.

I like the look of the Sigma but can't find one second hand. Never mind, will keep looking.....
