Looks like a £50 Eye-Fi Card is the best solution. It gives you a lot more freedom anyway by not having a wire attached, although strictly speaking your no longer Tethered

Besides the 75-300 you could also consider the Pentax 100-300 (£50-£70) or for about £80-£120 the 80-320mm. New 55-300's are from about £140 but don't have a lens hood. Chinese copies are possibly available from ebay.

All the above lenses are good and price basically increases in step with the quality of the results.

Lithium-ion batteries are supposed to have a 3 year life from first use. So if you have one that's a year old and never been used it should last another 3 years from when you use it.

I've two Pentax K20D batteries and two copies. The Pentax batteries work perfectly the copies only work for about 50 shots. I used to have similar problems with Sony movie camera batteries... now I use only Sony (slightly different because they have circuitry to show how many minutes are left).

Only works at up to 1/125th sec. on Pentax (unless they have adjusted the timing).

I don't see why not? Obviously anyone with slow connections visits other sites that present the same problem as well.

I had to do it when I was with BT, sometimes the line dropped to 25 kbps so I used to block most picture host sites in Firefox (via Adblock)and if I really wanted to see the pics I'd fire up Opera and paste the URL into the "paste and go bar" and it would load everything including Javasript which is turned off in Firefox using NoScript.

Now I'm on 10MB Virgin Cable and pictures aren't a problem although I might do it if I ever visit DP Review again, that site is just ridiculous for slowing your computer down.

I doubt it working under 64bit and very little seems to work properly under Win 7. You can download some 500MB XP compatibility software or do like I've done.... leave the New Windows 7 m/c to gather dust and use the old XP Pro one.

I use Logitech Marble mice exclusively and they don't work properly with Win 7 ..... looking at photos is a pain the page down and page up buttons on the mouse don't work?

I hope London Transport don't use Win 7 they use Logitech Marble mice to control the driverless trains

Un-tick "load images automatically" in your browser, possibly create an exception for images from www.pentaxuser.co.uk.

Adblock can also block images from any sites you specify.

Firerfox 2 doesn't seem to load images from Photobucket, they must use non-standard code.

I've got one of these and it's very handy for viewing any Pentax DSLR screen outside/on-location to check exposure, composition, col. balance etc. Works fine in bright sunlight. Should be OK in Live-View.

I keep meaning to stick some foam on the bottom so that I can push it tight against the camera, without scratching anything. At present I hold it about 4mm away which works fine. Some of the self adhesive foam that they use for sealing metal air ducts would be ideal. Or a bit of felt.

It's usually a case of playing around with the connections and switching the program and camera on/off until they find one another. After that they usually connect straight away. Probably better run from within the Browser rather than as a separate program.

If you don't have any success try a USB Hub or an Eye-Fi card.
