I like the horse picture the best.
It looks quite sharp, but I notice from the
exif data (via viewimage exif data in Firefox)
that it was taken at 70mm f/5. Can I ask what
lens you used?

Very funny It's a good sign when Pentax gets
noticed and mentioned. At least they are aware that the
brand exists. Probably wouldn't have been 2-3 years ago.

The very strong sales of the K-x has proven this was actually a well thought out strategy.
Well if the only upgrade path is to the same lens with a hood and a metal mount and quick shift for another £300?? ...... It is a well thought out strategy There's always the Sigma Bigma I suppose

Considering that a lot of dealers have split the lens from the kit I doubt that it has made any impact on K-x sales, it is after all £130 extra to fork out.

I hope they do the same with the 300mm DA* f/4. Make a kit lens version with a plastic mount for £150 extra over the basic K-x..... I'd buy that

The DA-L 55-300 is obviously the cheaper version Pointless bringing it out in my opinion. People will be buying it with a kit the same way they do with the 18-55mm and then asking "What can I buy as an upgrade to the Kit 55-300mm" and there isn't anything because it's already a TOP lens

Pentax won't be selling anywhere near as many of the full version Pentax-DA SMC 55-300mm f/4-5.8 ED and may finish up discontinuing it, which will be a shame. It will also impact on profits, because it has been a good seller.

Nice lighting on a very nice building.
I think you need to black out or crop the
Scientology sign though. Disgrace that they
are even there.

The right hand sign looks like the building
is for hobs (drawing office supplies).

The second plane looks like an Airfix plastic kit one I once built Ha!Ha!

Unbelievable level of detail on the 100% crop.

Very nice bird and well captured. The flash looks
just a little teeny bit too strong.

Also about the best way to test if an exposure meter is accurate, especially an incident light meter.

FYI twin kit with much better DA55-300 is now listed at £673 on Amazon. That includes a bag and 4 GB card. Wait for a sale for even better price.
I've already pointed to that in a post above £519 (i.e. £154 cheaper)
