From a Health and Safety plus public liability insurance point of view if it's not road worthy he shouldn't be using it. Somebody could steal it and get killed

The 80-320mm should work and give excellent results.
Have you got the lens set to 'A' if you have try cleaning
the contacts on the lens.

It was the chapel pictures that caught my eye with regard to
sharpness, but the others are sharp as well. A lot will also
be down to the photographer

Very nice, I like them all. The light looks of very good
quality even on the shots when it was cloudy.

I was very surprised to see a top museum using Windolene on glass for frames that contained historic prints/paintings It had been kept at the correct temperature and humidity for 24 hours first though
