If your bothered about weight be sure to check the weights of the lenses. Some of the ones suggested are probably quite heavy? There's also a new 35mm f/2.4 Standard Lens for £150 which I believe is very light and performs well.

If your "Big and Butch" a Leica wooden surveying tripod is much more stable than flimsy photographic wobly-pods and the feet can be pushed into the ground making it really rigid. Only £124 New ebay

Surveyors often carry several of these as well as heavy instruments such as Total Stations about for 8/9 hours a day along with a 14lb sledge hammer for knocking stakes in

According to Pentax Japan the 600 F4 was discontinued some time ago. That saying, most of the other lenses mentioned still seem to be around. Clear as mud.
It was only 1,417,500 yen (£11,086 + Import Duty) Why did they discontinue it? No point in me doing the Lottery Now!

Edit::: Never mind I can get a N(ikon) for £7,500 which leaves room to buy a camera as well ebay
So I'll keep on buying the occasional Lottery ticket and crossing my fingers

Looks quite decent, especially on the 2nd one. The desirable
Chinon f/1.4 is the 55mm it has really nice Bokeh, but usually
costs about £60. The 55mm f/1.7 isn't much different and is
cheaper. At £30 for yours it's certainly a bargain.

Any current Pentax camera really..... just depends on how
much you want to spend.

Went for £1,028

One of the best 85mm's ever made, although not quite as good
as the A* version.

Looks to be front focusing a bit to me. I'm amazed at the exposures
your getting at 500ISO this time of year 1/1600 at f/5.6 and the
exposure is spot on, so the lens must let a lot of light through.

Some purple green fringing, but it is wide open and should be
better stopped down. The colours look good.

You can't beat a 600mm lens for sneaking up on blackbirds

I'm quite sure that ones auction only. I would be surprised if ebay varies from country to country.

With a 400mm the head is more important than the tripod.
