The side legs come off and it becomes a mono-pod.

If I could only have one Camera Support without doubt it would be the Novoflex Basic Ball absolutely brilliant supports up to 55 lbs and the legs can be screwed into different positions.
Edit: That guy has some amazing photos

I give up I can't spot where it is in the 6th shot

For shoulder/chestpod use with a 75mm high B&S head it's unbelievable... use either 3 legs (awkward) or remove the bottom leg and rest the two rubber balls of the other 2 legs against or on top of your shoulders, so that your shoulders support about half of the weight. I can't even steady the camera properly with a standard lens never mind a tele, but with this setup I have no problems with a 300mm lens and 2x converter. I've tried comparing it with a rigid tripod and there isn't any advantage using the tripod. I've even tried it with a monopod screwed into the bottom hole and rested on the ground, but again no advantage
A cheap B&S is all that's needed. I use one of these, but with a quick release. Easily supports the DA*300 and camera and will slip if it receives a sudden bang.

Alright, I know this is a different lens entirely, but I thought I'd let you guys know about this one. It's an M-100mm f4 macro, which the guy is advertising as an M42 Takumar. The blurb says it's for parts or not working, but the truth is, there's a bit of fungus on the front element.
I don't have the budget for it at the moment (and I'm after the f2.8 A-series version anyway), so go for it!
