Oh yes, didn't notice it was Southampton.

Pretty good price though, wouldn't sell mine for that.

An extremely good price

Someone bite his hand off...quick!

I guess the HSM version has devaulued these somewhat, shame as I hoped to swap mine when Pentax bring out a DA* version of the 250-600 and drop the price to under a grand

It is a shame, especially because, as I understand it the original EX, non HSM, is the better lens.

I fear by the time Pentax bring out that lens your Bigma (and mine) will be worth very little due to chronic old age

This is very tempting.... somebody really needs to buy this because I'm very tempted to hit the BIN button. Mind you I noticed one go for slightly less the other day but it was not clear if it was the DG version.

Is now sold.
Not to me , was just logging on to get it.
SWMBO would have had a fit, so perhaps it`s a good thing someone else got it.

I always tell myself that when I just miss a good deal on Ebay but it somehow doesn't seem to make me feel any better.

Know what you mean, fact is I have spent a fair bit on glass since Christmas, and really should not get anymore for a month or two

Come mid April will be in the market for something long and fast, the Bigma is not it, but it did seem like a good price, and we all love a bargain.

Is this scheduled at all, or even anything more than a rumor?
I'm an avid reader of the Rumors section on Pentaxforums but I haven't seen anything mentioning this (some people talk of a 400mm though).

Just wishful thinking I'm afraid Nicolas.

Sadly the idea of such a lens was just a fantasy, given the crop factor of aps-c sensors I doubt Pentax will ever produce anything of that focal length again, not at least while a Pentax F/F camera remains equally elusive.

PS; that was NOT an invitation to turn this thread into yet another F/F debate

Alright, I know this is a different lens entirely, but I thought I'd let you guys know about this one. It's an M-100mm f4 macro, which the guy is advertising as an M42 Takumar. The blurb says it's for parts or not working, but the truth is, there's a bit of fungus on the front element.
I don't have the budget for it at the moment (and I'm after the f2.8 A-series version anyway), so go for it!
