OK .... GOOD NEWS for now.
After installing 1.03 I got 100% success in focussing at EV2. Most of the time. V1.03 gives inconsistent focussing. it focusses accurately at EC2 say 8 times out of 10. V1.01 and 1.02 front focussed consistently EVERY TIME!!!
With my old K-5 V1.01, 1.02 and 1.03 front focussed consistently EVERY TIME!!!
At f/5.6 and below I normally work on 1 in 4 being properly in focus, for lens testing purposes

The 1990-91 Fiswick Catalogue (sadly no longer in business) gives the price of a MF 50mm f/1.4 Nikon as £228 and Pentax as £100. The f/1.2's were £315 and £205.
I can't see how a company with hardly any Pro clients can expect to get away with the same prices as a well established Pro supplier.

video link of a test clip using the kr and 85 mm 2.2 soft lens.
the video clip is of a sparkly jewel type box...
what do you think?
Quite a nice effect, would probably be useful for overlaying titles etc.
and the the fade from bokeh to sharpness has possibilities.

Jeezus Krist Algi, never let an opportunity go to waste, eh?
It's not a big download to get Quicktime, and there are one or two sites that still use it so it's probably worth doing... [Edit - installed QT and site still doesn't work... I take it all back! ]
Would be nice to see your bits and pieces of video Don, if you care to upload to Vimeo / YT / Flickr it would be very nice!

This is why I can never fathom the shutter priority mentality. I know people who set shutter speed once then change aperture to balance it, which to me is very strange. I set the aperture to get the sharpness/DOF I want then the shutter speed is matched, although obviously if in low light I'll sacrifice DOF to avoid camera shake.
Tv mode does have its uses, such as aircraft where you either want the camera locked to the fastest possible speed for jets or 1/125 or so to avoid frozen propellers.
