A huge difference between them. The Pentax-F 1.7x AF adapter is excellent and loses no more than half a stop of light, but it will cost several hundred squids and really, if you have a first rate prime lens you might as well just crop the image.
How do you calculate that? I thought that 1.4x equals one stop and 2x equals 2 stops. What am I missing?
It should be 1.7 stops, probably nearer to 1.5 stops in practice. A 1.4x only loses 1 stop

That could look very nice painted in different colours like they do on railway stations.

This seems to be the only Dublin Bridge credited to Daglish. Strange coincidence the Daglish family are thought to be from Glascow originally.

The Handcart is Molly Malone - it is very interesting but of course it's in everyone's photos and the wee guy who sits there playing a drum [ his speakers are there under the cart ] is very helpful about taking photos of folk standing on the plinth - which of course makes it very hard to get a decent shot of the cart

Algi - there are many many beautiful lamposts there, also interesting bits of stonework . I've got what I could , but I've a lot of pp to be done .
Ah!! I should have twigged Molly Malone
A lot of the heavier cast iron metalwork in Dublin such as the bridges were made in Lancashire by the Daglish Iron Foundry (stopped trading around 1930).

The handcart is really unusual and looks interesting. Pity it wasn't somewhere without the shops in the background. The street lamp is also a very interesting piece of Victorian metalwork, probably the best I've ever seen.

Scratches on the front element act like a starburst filter It is actually the same thing except the starburst filter has more scratches for marketing reasons. Leica used to suggest painting out front element scratches with matt black paint

Best thing is avoid any lenses with scratched elements front or rear

The Pentax-M 50mm f/1.4 is probably the best/cheapest option for a good lens, although the Pentax-A is probably the best performer.

Check out Ricehigh's blog he uses Pentax lenses on Canon bodies and I think he has a list of what works and what doesn't.

They've compared the 3 cameras using the Sony APS-C sensor in this weeks AP (Thanks to the supermarket for letting me read it )Surprisingly (for AP)they rated the Pentax better than the Nikon and Sony for picture quality especially at high ISO

Almost makes up for the horrible write up they gave regarding Jessops taking Pentax back on board after they allegedly dumped them

That's the K version. It doesn't say Asahi or Pentax on the cheapy
It just says Takumar and it's on the outside of the lens just above the rubber grip/focus ring.

Wireless flash! Without having to use the pop up flash! Unless i'm missing a trick here.
This is already out of date and wouldn't work with 3rd party receivers

Modern mount on units have 2 way wireless so they can receive a signal to trigger the camera and send another signal to fire the flash at the same time.
