I tend to mix up the two competitions already. As my archives are so tiny.... In most cases I just have to take a NEW pic. I just have to remember: do I have one week or two for taking the pic....

The lighting is pretty good did you do something special for it?
No, nothing. Just chose a place. Taken inside, some light coming from window. closed the curtains bit. No PP (only resize). Corrected WB in my camera.

I have not got so far - to play with different lamps, flashes etc. Unknown science for me yet. Also I am doing my first steps in long exposure. Had no tripod until couple of weeks ago.

Just liked these yellow leaves seeing sunlight for the first time in their life

Useful job you do ! Thanks !

Some of the posts have been quite "chinese" for me. This list helps.

Now I have to learn the slang as well

I have seen the northern lights for 3 times. As a child - tiny ones.

Then 6/7 april 2000 was a real event. Really all the sky was covered. The curtains hanging straight overhead. In one direction there was also red color. In south estonia more of red was seen. It lasted several hours. I guess most of people went out to see. Lot of people rode out of town to get a better sight. Incredible!
I had a feeling, that when I stretch my hand, I can touch them
Pity, but this time I had no camera available.

A year later (march?) there was also some aurora, but not so strong.

Now I know how science is made !
in the first row..... no shame at all !

Congratulations to the winner !!!! Agree 120% Fantastic !

Thanks for advices, Prieni. I must say I tried some of your thoughts. Sigma didnt work so well. in macro mode it looses a lot of light. And the DOF will go tiny. PS. I do not have a macro lense.
Tripod was no use this time. You know - a child is not able to sit totally quiet for more than a moment. She moves. I had to gain as good DOF as possible....the main reason for choices.
The reason for 42,5 mm - I even do not know. Guess I moved it occasionally. But this one happened to be the sharpest pic.
Additional light ? It would have caused a reflection? And I actually have no idea, what I could have used for that

Nothing to do, my skills have a border here
At the moment I am happy with the result.

edit: no shame...
