Some great shots there George. I particularly like the clouds and wide expansive composition in nos 1 and 8
where the motorcycles are almost an incidental element of the image...very original.

No surprise that the image taken by the Pentax (i'm assuming) is of a low light city scene whilst both Canikon cameras feature 'action' / movement shots ! The Canon being the more challenging shot than the Nikon one arguably...all fits the established stereotypes. Is that the way the different brands are actively marketed in Japan I wonder?

Have just noticed that SRS are doing "open box" SIGMA 18-250 HSM Macro for £219 still with 1 yr warranty
by the look of it...pretty good value for this lens.

Yeah Bill...I think so. Prices always drop for Easter even if its just for a long weekend. I'd be surprised if you
had to pay more than £300 for it over Easter which as it happens is about my valuation of it .

What i'd really like is an 80-400 f5.6 for about £650-£700!

Thanks for taking the time to offer your observations Peter.I'd be particularly interested in how the new lens performs on the K-50 as i'm looking to 'upgrade' my Tamron 70-300 and also how that pairing compares with the K70/55-300PLM. My only possible reservation would be on how robust the new lens might be...have to say for a £100 lens the Tamron is built very well.

Its very confusing at the moment as the UK and USA seem to have slightly differing interpretation of the rules ,implying that as the US introduced this rule first the UK government was caught on the hop and simply knee jerked a response out.

No news yet that France, Germany, Canada or other major western countries are to follow but I don't see how they can refrain from doing so once the precedent has been set as otherwise any airline or airport not sanctioned will be considered a 'weak link' by the alleged terrorists. Also it is highly unlikely that the airlines and airports singled out by US/UK will take this without retaliation in kind...so i would expect these measures to go global within days affecting all international flights.

Glad i've not booked anywhere yet...think i'll be doing a nice relaxing staycation here in UK and free to load the family car with as much stuff as I want!

Latest US/UK security rules to ban ALL electronic devices larger than a mobile phone from cabin baggage!

Initially these rules will only be applied to state airlines operating out of various Middle Eastern countries but i would expect them to be implemented on every international flight within days.

Suppose the budget airlines will be pleased...all that extra revenue as people will not have the option anymore of travelling without hold luggage UNLESS they are prepared to ditch all their electronic gear and leave at home.

What do people think?
