Have enjoyed all 3 sets...No.6 on this set for me also.

Looks like the coastline there was custom made for Geography lessons / field trips on coastal erosion.

Some good points made above...from my and my son's limited experience of this type of shot...minimum of a 300mm needed on APS-C. Even with the Pentax 300 f/4 +1.4TC still not an ideal solution although good for larger birds. My son has ended up with Olympus a 40-150 f2.8 + 2x convertor on 4/3rds giving the equivalent
(35mm) of 160-600 with a really good AF body that reliably tracks birds.

Pentax really need to bring out either a) a 1.7x or 2x convertor to give just that bit extra reach or
b) a 400mm prime (f/4, f4.5 or f/5.6)...a real omission in their lineup

Even better if they did both things. Combined with the new K-3III there would be no reason for people to
look elsewhere.

Nice set...i've come to the conclusion I DO definitely like the IR filter look.

Particularly like 1 and 5 as the white and blue give a very distinct look...must be because I like snowy images!

What frequency of IR conversion did you go for?

Brilliant set Gareth...you've captured in exquisite detail all the elements that combine to make a typical British day out by the sea. (Similar comment to LennyBloke I know).

Those packed beaches are very reminiscent of shots taken decades ago before we discovered cheap overseas destinations.

My favourite shots are of the funfair as people can't pose or hide their facial expressions when on a roller coaster / watersplash. You could set up a temporary business arrangement with the ride owners allowing you to distribute your contact details to people you've taken on those rides...then flog them some jpegs!

Like the very colourful beachhut shots as well.

great job.

Brilliant specimen.

Great technique, expertly applied...well done Roger, you've every reason to be chuffed.

It's a good job that these 'bugs' aren't 100x larger in actuality than they are...world would be a very scary place.

Inside the hangars around the walls are many photos, drawings, artwork of aviation themed items together with small displays. I could happily spend several hours perusing these but had to make do with about an hour or so. Some of my favourites...variable quality...partly my fault...partly item condition as many are very old.

Some nice shots there.

Really like No.2 as i'm a fan of backlit leaves and those look good.

Also like No.6...my kind of shot and particularly like the image of 'Fallen Tree ' (IR) at No.8...love the white tree against blue background. No.9 is quite nice as well.

Very nice images of a lovely place.

Like them all...even No.1 as i'm not normally a fan of the fisheye effect.

Stumbled on it purely by chance as it had just started.

Was entertaining, shame there are only six contestants...would have been nice to have had a couple more.

Rankin seemed very fair and supportive with constructive criticism and he didn't seem too full of himself admitting that one of the challenges wasn't really his strong point either.

Judging the images though...as with any artform...very subjective

Only another three episodes so I will try and make a point of watching them. The trailer for part two showed boxers so i'm guessing there will be a 'sport' or 'action' challenge which could be quite interesting.
