Nos 4,6 and 7 for me...like the slightly more intense colours.

The K3 plus 18-55WR comes out at £973 assuming a conservative exchange rate of 1.15 EUR to the £. Even if you allowed £25 for postage to UK that is still 'only' £1000 which implies a body only price ex postage of £900...about 10% below UK prices.

It's true as Darkmunk says..a familiar story. Some items were actually dearer than UK but most on a quick check seemed about 10% cheaper.

Its quite fun to go and use the online colour selector where you first select the colour of the body and then the grip...I think i went through all options at least once...some definitely better than others. My favourite though is probably Olive or olive/Black..can't understand why this isn't a standard colour option given the number of nature and bird lovers who use these cameras.

It would be interesting if Pentax released a full league table by volume sales of all the permutations...i wonder if there is any combination that no-one has purchased yet.
Could be worth a fortune in a few years!

Royal Mail doesn't seem to be enforcing the regulations consistently. There are any number of battery sellers on EBAY advertising lithium batteries for little more than the cost price but including Royal mail postage! Both Royal Mail and EBAY need to start being a bit more consistent as it is unfair to those retailers who 'play by the rules'.

Import duty and taxes...are they payable on used items? I'm just thinking that if you went on a fortnights holiday to a place that sold photo gear cheaper than UK and bought something upon arrival, then took a few thousand photos with it...when you go back to UK it is essentially a used item not a new one? What are the regulations on this?

I would expect the PX trade-in to disappear after christmas as this was probably a sales gimmick all along. The body would have been built to a price point which was/is likely to have been £999 here in the UK. £999 will probably be the 'normal' body only price after christmas and is likely to drop to say £949 by easter..after that...who knows?

Interestingly, if the £ continues to strengthen against most other major currencies like it has been for the past couple of months, then UK retailers risk losing sales to overseas dealers, which may hasten a drop in the 'official' price sooner rather than later.

On a general note though, people don't have a lot of money swilling around like they may once have had and nobody makes any money in interest any more...so, unless there is another 'PPI scandal' waiting in the wings (paid for by taxpayer owned banks..i.e the taxpayer) then hard to see where the money is going to come from, which ultimately may mean a bigger drop in the price sooner rather than later or maybe a reduction in competition if Pentax, Sony or Olympus pulled out of the camera market altogether due to insufficient revenue.

On a less expensive level I'm pondering my next move with regard to the K30. I really want it to reduce to £400 with 18-55WR otherwise i think i'll wait another year and get the K50 hopefully for that sort of price in 12 months time, although the way things are going in Japan I may end up ditching a new camera and buying a geiger counter instead!

This link is very interesting for speed and distance information as you can literally watch it changing in front of you.

Sorry for the delay in replying but have only just got back on the site.

As of a day or two ago, the K5II body was £649...now £699 (both prices before cashback). With the 18-55WR it was £719 now £749.

Similar story with the 'IIs'.
