No cropping on any of these as they barely fit the frame as it is.
Was pleased with the overall sharpness, minimal tweaking required.
These were some of my final shots of the F900R group.

Very nice set!
The TC is quite an underrated bit of kit.
I enjoyed these, thanks for sharing. They all look good to me and I like number 6 where you can see the rider's face through the visor. Getting the knee down was something I never managed (never went on a track day though) and any wheelies were accidental and frightening.
These look very good. I would not have said there was a TC involved. Can I ask how was focusing - follow focus or pre-focused on a particular spot?
My 'keeper' rate was about 15% on the first 200 or so shots that these came from. Haven't looked at the rest yet...hopefully no shockers!
On the shots where they were coming towards me I did pre-focus on a particular part of the track helping the AF out a lot.
The side on shots were quite challenging as the bikes were closer and moving fast...not so many keepers on these...didn't help here also in that the 420mm focal length was actually borderline here...would have been better with about 350mm as the bikes filled the frame.
The shot of the rear of the bikes again were not pre-focussed.

Paired it with the K5IIs as I had the 50-135 already attached to the K3 and this proven combination is good for the shorter shots at Oulton.
The following shots were all taken of the same group (ROKIT OFF BMW 900R riders) as they were the first group on again after lunch.
Even better...this was a qualifying event rather than a practice session so should hopefully guarantee a few more group shots with several bikes in the frame for added impact.
Anyway see what you think...all shots were hand held although some were rested on my photo-bag which was on my knees as I sat on a collapsible chair.

Overall I was very impressed by the converter.
It was very sharp when the focus was spot on with little discernible loss of quality.
With a monopod i'd expect the images to be even better.
For me the main attraction of this combo is that it has helped me get shots I just couldn't have achieved without the converter whilst allowing me to potentially save the image at a much larger size as little or no cropping is required.
Thanks for looking.

These were taken just a few seconds after the same bike as a 'head on' shot...which is the reason I wanted the 400mm reach in the first place, so can't complain.
After looking at about 320 shots so far with the 1.4x converter attached i'd say my 'keepers' are probably closer to 20% than my initial thought of about 15%. With a bit more practice and possibly using my monopod should be able to increase this figure.
My shooting style is more 'sniper' than 'machine gun'...no more than 2 shots at a time so the less than ideal AF isn't so much of an issue for me as it could have been. I've a feeling I did take a few dozen shots using MF as well...yet to see those!
I'm very pleased with it, and i've yet to try it with my 100mm WR macro which would be my other main usage for it. I'll possibly try that out in a few days. Have a few other MF lenses as well i'd like to try with...i'll give my verdict on some other combinations if and when I have anything useful to contribute!
