A Pentax would be a good start!
Depends on what you want - fully manual, auto exposure, auto focus ...

I would like to be able to use my FA50 Lens, or any auto focus lens, that's my priority I guess.

You can use AF lenses in MF on any manual body.
If you want an AF body then there are plenty around. The MZ series are the most recent and these will seem most like the DSLRs in many ways.

My choice would be: MX for manual focus only, or MZ5 for autofocus.

My choice would be a 645 or a 67, cheap as chips at the moment with a really great 'film experience'.
If you go down the 35mm road, I would go for an LX, MX or, because they only cost £30 and are autofocus, an SFXn.

Which D-SLR do you have???
If you have *ist D, K10D, K20D or K7 - I recommend a Z-1 or Z-1p...
why? Hyper Program and full functionality.
Plus it's a beauty

The MZ7 is I believe the most "lens compatable" of all Pentax bodies, it can utilise K, KA, KAF, and FAJ lenses. It meters correctly with K lenses because of the mechanical aperture coupling but the aperture can also be controled from the body so it works perfectly with FAJ lenses too, it also uses the same infra red remote "F" as DSLRs

I think I would like to reduce my outlay in case in dont like film,so probably looking to spend about £50ish on a body, as long as my FA50 auto focuses on it that will be fine.
Thanks for help so far.

£50 is ample to get a nice MZ5, probably the best choice from the range in that price bracket. It was an award winning camera is 1988, has a metal mount and is compatible with all Pentax lenses.

Thanks John.
Shame there's none on ebay at the moment.
Been looking at an MZ30-would the FA50 autofocus on that body?

I have decided to try some film photography and I haven't got a clue which model of camera to choose.
Some guidance would be greatly appreciated
