Videos on the KS2 from David Hancock, plus a lot of other stuff Pentax related, very thorough overview, his voice is a little dull but if you have the KS2 sit back with a bucket of popcorn...

Part exchanged my K7 kit for a K S2 ( Black and Orange ) with the 18 - 135 lens, its a great combination.The image quality is definitely on a par or better than the K 7, not been used a great deal yet and I only do minor post processing with Faststone Image Viewer, cropping etc, but very impressed.
Got used to the minor difference in button layout easily enough although I have pressed the LV button instead of the Delete button a few times.
Have only had to consult the manual to setup the WiFi which is a new feature.
Great service from SRS again, thanks to, I think it was Jimmy and Doug who organsised delivery and collection the day following me placing the order.

Not in the US , Japan and definitely not in England.

Anything with a lower cost , was second hand.

You're talking about one lens, one time at an ebay store. The lens is around AUD$900 - AUD$1,200 everywhere else. The PENTAX store (CRK) don't even list it.

You can't really make a blanket statement that Australian camera gear is the cheapest in the world based on that example alone, because Horst, that just is not true - by a long stretch.

I buy all my Pentax gear locally when I can (mostly from CRK) , but it's always more expensive then O/S.. *always*

*than* (Arrrrgh!!! I hate that grammatical error, I see it everywhere.. It's like a mind virus!!!)

The lenses I talked about where just an example .

I bought the following : the FA77, the Fa43 and the FA 31 . All from the same shop.
I sold the 31 again, because I didn't like it very much.

I attached the receipts for the 43 and 77 so you can see they came from Kennedy's
I had them send to my work addresses.

At the moment I can buy a Canon EOS1000 with Kit lens for $699.- and a Canon EOS700D with 2 lenses for $999.- ,a NikonD5200 wit kit lens for $ 599.- and I originally bought my Pentax X-5 for $199.- including memory card and Bag from the local Post Office for $199.-

So far you haven't given me not 1 example of any Photographic lens or camera which is cheaper anywhere else than Australia

Well I didn't think I needed to. I thought we all watched US prices and bemoaned how much cheaper even with shipping that cameras are.

Sure, I'm not denying that from time to time there are some decent specials in Australia (when compared against rrp), but the norm is that we here in Australia pay more for tech. It's not ever been different.

Even including the shipping is debateable. If you live in the USA, you're likely to be able to buy Pentax products cheaper than most anywhere else.
At times it's different, but on the whole that seems to be the common theme.

Re the K-S2, how are people finding it?
Bar the higher res/no AA filter sensor (and wifi) the guts of it seem to be the same as a K-30? Same max shutter speeds, autofocus points etc
It does seem smaller though, and I wonder how those with larger / normal European sized hands are finding it?
(only mentioning this with regards to Asia sizing vs UK/Aus/USA sizing etc.)

What's the vibe?

I find it ok to use hand held and I have quite large hands. I think I tend to use on a tripod about 70% of the time but that is age related not so steady now and eyes not what they were for the viewfinder. Also like the idea of the articulated screen for low level work or viewing say decorated ceilings as found in churches etc., with getting a crick in the neck or lying flat out.
