Hi,

I need some advices to buy a torchlight.

I was about to buy this one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AP-Pro-Series-210-Lumens-High-Performance-Cree-Led-Tor... good price as well...

...but then I just did some research to see if there could be more powerful ones at a good price...so I have found this crazy 1300 lumens that costs even less:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UltraFire-1300-Lumen-WF502B-5-Modes-CREE-XM-L-T6-Led-F...

what are your experiences? What do you suggest me to buy?

The second one at 1300 Lm has a total "power" equivalent to a 100w incandescant bulb or ~20w CFL. It does sound high, but with Cree LEDs it is quite possible.

I use a very similar device with an older Cree LED and that is claimed to be 220Lm.

The only downside of it might be the battery life but at £8.50 it is worth taking a chance.

Thanks gamka....it looks like 200lm should be enough and higher lumens could be too much for night photography...what do you think?

however this is a nice application for the cree led:

I prefer a head torch for any kind of out side work at night. I have a few and IMHO the Petzl is the best ..jeff..

p7 arrived, seems all right. I am no expert, but the "spill" is noticeable (if I got what the spill actually is). I hope it is worth the 10 pounds extra

Looks a good spec. and if the flood is as good as the demo
video it should be a handy torch. I notice on one of the
reviews that it's at 80% when you switch on.... you have
to press a few times for 100%.

Did you buy this direct from Amazon in which case it will be
genuine. There are a lot of fakes about, inc. on Amazon and
ebay.

I've just been onto the importers about 3 sellers on ebay selling fakes
for about £20 and they are going to get ebay to remove them, but
they will be back again under a different name.

For photography use I like the look of the Coast HP7 flood setting.
It seems to be based on the LED Lenser design.
Coast originally sold re-badged LED Lensers.

thank you a lot!

That what I was suspecting. From the box and everything else it seems genuine, but how can I be sure? They can be very good at it.

I got it from ebay

This might help..... link

Have a look where the seller registered from. If it's China
it's probably fake. If UK and listed as Genuine Reseller it's
possibly OK.

The copies are that good they probably work the same as the
originals, but it's always safer to buy an original.
