I've just got a Cree LED for my 3cell maglite that I stopped using cos it ate batteries ,wow what a bulb stunnig torch now you could geta tan from it or use it as a follow spot at a gig ....jeff,,,,

what do you think about the HP14? It costs about the same:

I just fear it could be too powerful for photography

Looks good. I would have gone for that if I'd seen it.
It won't be too bright on the FLOOD setting. Twice the
weight, but takes AA batteries. About 3 inch longer.

I wonder why their prices are lower than the ebay
ones? They have the HL27 Headlamp for £32.... tempting

I got it, the quality of the light is much better than the fake lenser, although the intensity and the colour cast is very similar (magentaish)

Anyway, I did not realize how big the hp14 is, I have already asked if they can change it for the hp7

3 inches longer is quite a bit, but I've always had torches like
that often taking D Cells.

The HP7 is white. I did get a small torch free with my HP7 which
is magenta/purple.

If you include a grey card in the 1st shot you can always
colour balance it.
