Really forgot the Goonies, that was indeed a very nice film to watch.

Some Like it Hot
Ice-Cold in Alex
Breakfast at Tiffany's
Roman Holiday
(Cheating a bit) Smiley's People
Anything with Sophia Loren
Anything else with Audrey Hepburn
Betty Blue
And the worst film ever made? The recent Bond. Absolutely dreadful.

Forgot to add that great Western spoof with Jane Fonda, Lee Marvin, and Nat King Cole.
Mel Brooks is OK. Most modern films are pretty dire, but I was surprised by how well Keira Knightley acted in a film about Dylan Thomas. Can't remember the name.
And also cheating, I have seen few films I have enjoyed as much as I enjoyed Brideshead Revisted. Diana Quick's finest hour.

Finally someone picked Some Like it Hot. Well done, George! Possibly the funniest film ever made.
My other nine would be (well for now):
North by Northwest
Rear Window
Philadelphia Story
Kind Hearts & Coronets
Toy Story (1 and/or 2)
Do the right thing
Casablanca
His Girl Friday
Get Shorty

So what is the best film of 2009?
It seems I missed most films that year besides UP and The Dark Knight

You're a man of taste, Doctor.
A small quibble. In the interests of precision, the "possibly" should be eliminated from your second sentence.

I'm not suggesting it's great (I didn't like it one bit), but I have seen countless worse films.
Perhaps this says more about my decision making when it comes to watching fils than anything else!

Well, possibly I have seen worse films, and mercifully forgotten them. But none of them would have been as expensive to make or as over-hyped as QoS. Some people were claiming it was good. It was unbelievably bad. Really dire.

I was surprised at how bad it was, given that I quite enjoyed Casino Royale.Well, possibly I have seen worse films, and mercifully forgotten them. If you want something expensive and overhyped look no further than Waterworld.
