Hello all

I appreciate that we may be looking towards Easter for a 'meet' but this weekends weather shows snow on Saturday followed by a cold clear day on Sunday

If the weather stays that way I plan to be somewhere (probably Llyn Crafnant) at around 8am Sunday Morning

If anyone wishes to join in let me know or if anyone has a better suggestion (stay in bed is one suggestion I may fall foul of:lol

Hopefully the Easter ish meet will also take place

Regards

No snow of significance so not worth making the trip yet, next weekend may well have more though

Thanks Simon

Whilst there is no snow to speak of yet it occurred to me that getting to Llyn Crafnant may prove to be on foot from Capel Curig rather than by car if there had been

I will be heading towards Llyn Crafnant in the morning then off to Llyn Idwal after that - or at least that is the plan so far - depends if my Canon using companions agree

I have decided to go as it should be cold clear in the morning so I may as well give it a shot

Cheers

Crafnant is very tricky to get to in cold weather, the lane from Trefriw is probably near impassable in very icy/snowy conditions, even if you have a 4x4, the beauty of walking from Capel Curig is that you pass the Pinnacles with the great views of Snowdon.

Good luck for tomorrow, looks promising for first thing with low windspeed so maybe some reflections...I'm having a battle with Type 1 Diabetes at the moment having being diagnosed just before Christmas otherwise I'd have been tempted to join you, should be good for the "official" Snowdonia meet though

I hope you get the diabetes under control Simon, my better half has type 1 so I have some experience of it

The low windspeed thing is something I have my fingers crossed for hoping that the met office have predicted correctly

I shall be looking forward to the results of the trip, whenever it is

My daughter-in-law has type 1 diabetes, had it since she was three. Once it is under control you'll be fine. She has never let it stop her from doing anything, including getting drunk as a skunk . She now has some eye problems as a result of it, but she's had it over thirty five years now so is doing very well really.
Good luck with getting it under control.

Thanks Stu...Crafnant is a good bet as it's pretty well protected by the hillsides on 3 sides, you might find Idwal a bit tricky as the sun hardly gets above the Glyderau this time of year, Llyn Dinas is a good bet towards the end of the day if you're looking for another location

Thanks Gwyn..the hospital have given me lots of guidance and support so I'm learning quickly, especially how to count carbs !!

As Easter seemed favourite and is just around a few corners, 29th March, is now the time to start the who, where, when and what to sort this out

Of course you can Cliff - if you tavel with Shaun you may need to make sure he doesn't put you in the boot with that new phototakingmebob you have bought

For anyone looking to share travel I live 5 minutes from where you turn off the A483 to head to Llangollen which makes my route straight to Llangollen and on to the a5 all the way car sharing welcomed

Easter or just after is good for me but the weekend before Easter is a no go for me.
