Well Barrie's house is not what you would call photogenic. However very close by is Beamish Open Air Museum which does offer loads of opportunities. link

I was thinking about August maybe?

Some of us from Durham Photographic Society are coming to Auld Reekie for the Fringe on Saturday August 10 Gareth.

I should be about then. You will recognise me because, like all Edinburgh folk during the Festivals, I will be complaining about all the people and barging through crowds.

Never been to Beamish so this sounds good to me, obviously depending on date and been able to get a day pass from the wife etc.
