Well I've not had the time to read through all the replies here so this may have been thought of....but;

What about some sort of Docking Station similar to the ones used for laptops, would make transfer of images easy, could be used to configure remote shooting, make coffee or whatever, be a bit of a bummer for those with grips attached though

What about a Pentax 6x7D, they should throw some eyes open with that one.

there are 80 mp medium format cameras out there... sticking such a sensor into a 6x7 body might be a way for Pentax to get some of that action without having to redo the 645d....

Or for under £20 you can have a Slik Mini Pro tripod, which isn't much bigger but will perform the same task (and more!)

This is exactly the kind of business that the 'Dragons' steer clear of. If it can be copied, they're not interested, and this item can be copied very easily. As Mike has already noted, Chinese copies will appear within weeks at a fraction of Yvon's price. That is if there really is a market for it, which I seriously doubt.

I never thought I needed a DSLR stabilizer, and at a shade under $150.00, I know I don't need one.

I just made one with half a plank, three screws and an old QR plate. Might not balance it on the car bonnet though.

I'm not convinced it's terribly new either (I'll admit the wider part directly under the camera and the rubber feet are their ideas, but still!) I've found a few sellers offering long Arca Swiss-type QR plates which would probably have a similar effect and also work with your tripod head, assuming you have something compatible.

What ever it is no one seems to know what it is! All I know is that it has sparked our imagination as to what it might be!
