Fiona insisted that she was perfectly happy with my old K20, and couldn't see the point of the K-7 no matter how nice it was. So I bought her one a month ago, our 1st wedding anniversary, and she loves it.
Picked up the K20 this week for a quick play, and the first thought was 'oh'. Asked Fiona if she fancied swapping the K-7 for the K20, and that answer is unrepeatable here!
Upshot is that the K20 is now for sale with grip and 2x extra batteries (£450 the lot if anyone wants it, perfect nick!), as we have decided that if we decide on getting another backup body, it will be a K-7 or nothing!
Is it worth it? Yes. Emphatically.

I don't feel the need to constantly upgrade to the latest thing - hence the big gap in time between my Super A and the K10D.

I added a K7 to go with the K10 and the low light focus lock, the faster AF is well worth it, plus the shutter is sooooooooo much smoother and quieter.

I upgraded my K10 to the K7 back in January and really happy I did. The extra features on the K7 is great and the video mode is very good. But I would recommend to buy an external mic. as it makes such an improvement to sound quality.
K5mk.IIs with 17-70mm DA and Sigma 70-300mm DA lenses. Before digital I used the P30T when using Fujichrome Velvia.

Not fully of topic but what is the best price you can get the K7?
I've already seen that SRS is 10% cheaper then any shop here

Okay then the prices are basicly the same because we got 2% more BTW
I had hoped it would have dropped a bit in price more
I know that the K20D had a very good price after a year or so, many bought a K20D then, they almost go for the same price second-hand now.

Now reading this guys, and me just thinking of going for a K7.......
Votes needed, (presently have 2 K10d bodies). As you can get the K7 body for less than £700 it seems more sensible. But is it??

Also is there more scope with the K7 to 'match' the lenses to the body?
Have heard you can do this with the 'cheat' Russian ware.
Is this correct, and i so any assistance in how woud be helpful in the decision. The two main lenses I use are both Sigma, one the 18-250 and the other the 150-500.
Regards
Paul

With the K10D you could only do that with a Russian hack that put your camera in debug mode and then you could adjust your AF.
With the K20D and the K7 you can do that out of the box without any hack, you can even adjust your AF just for a lens and it remembers the adjustment for up to 20 lenses I believe.
