.....Who knows, Pentax could revive the older moulds and do Ltd bodies from the *ist range with 12/14 meg sensors!
Then hopefully we could have a top plate LCD on all models. Very useful.

I can't see them reviving old bodies really.
Using the K-m for the K-x in the same way that the K10D was used for the K20D you can get away with but stepping back further would send the wrong signs to potential new Pentax users (I think).

But in this day of bigger better faster, some of us just want solid, reliable and eye catching.

A Limited release of such a body would boost sales and get comments from the press.

Besides, I like the look of the silver *ist bodies.

Mustn't forget the Zenits, or folders, or...

With apologies to the shallow for departing momentarily from the apparently vital area of aesthetics, Photorumors is carrying a snippet of an interview with a Sony executive that sheds further light on Kx IQ:

Quote:
Reporter Question:

Many users want to have a DSLR using Exmor R sensor. To get two times of sensitive and reduce the amount of noise.
However, it is not such simple, right?

Sony Answer:

Yes, because the sensor used in the Cyber shot is small, 1/2.4 inch, so that it can increase 2 times of sensitivity by using Exmor R sensor.

However, in DSLR, the size of the sensor is much larger, so that it is much easy to receive light under this size.

Therefore, using Exmor R will not able to increase the sensitivity to light by

Shaky, I think Exmor R is a different sensor design to regular Exmor.

I think it's probably best to wait for some samples or a review of either the K-x or Sony A500 to see how this sensor performs. Although I have a suspicion that it is the same sensor as used in the Nikon D90, so it has the potential to be very good indeed.

That translation is so indecipherable I think it's of little value TBH.

Curious that Pentax are almost reviving old names: the KM and the K-m, the KX and now the K-x. Perhaps the digital M-x isn't so far away after all.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Another shallow aesthetics post.

This will get Pentax noticed in a big way.

I see SRS have all four colour on their website, available for advance orders.

Sorry, the bad part was my sentiment... the more lucid colours are bad enough, but that last image cannot be a good way to market a dslr surely. I certainly can't see it making it to the West.
I thought people who were stepping up to entry level dslr were looking to take photography more seriously. Surely people who want a bright coloured camera would like it to fit in their handbag (or indeed manbag)

The K-x has the makings of a great camera on its own with the sensor & features contained within. Making it look like it's from the early learning centre cannot be conducive to its application as an excellent camera.
