Just curious, is this still 'The Pentax Site'?

or have we become the multi 'PenNikontax' site?

It's just that looking through some folks Data, one wonders why the powers that be say & do nowt?

Best Wishes to ALL, Larry.
Best Regards, Larry.

All the gear & no idea.

I'm not sure to what you are referring Larry, so please drop me a PM if there's something specific on your mind.

This site is indeed all about Pentax and Pentax-related subjects. Users of other marques are welcome as long as they stay marque-neutral in their posts and they only post Pentax images like the rest of us.

I'm not sure if that answers your question as I'm not sure what your question relates to!
Best regards, John

If people have got two different brands of camera, one Pentax and one other, I'd have thought it fairly unlikely to be a second DSLR System like Nikon ... Not many can afford to run two DSRL systems side by side.

It anything, I thought most people with other brands tended towards a different sort of system as their 'other' .... A mirrorless or compact quite popular for when they don't want to carry a DSLR and lenses.

I have just seen the pictures you are referring to Larry, nice shots but as you say, not Pentax.

Its my personal portfolio, its just a habit I've gotten into, when I upload a shot to the web it goes in all the usual places.
At the moment as my main pentax dslr is away for repair I'm using a Nikon. As a result I have added a few images to my portfolio not taken with a pentax. But as I'm liking the results from it I can see me running 2 systems side by side, they both have their strengths and weaknesses and compliment each other nicely.
I AM a fully paid up member of this site, and I'm still a die hard PENTAXIAN. But I can see how this will end, sadly the way it has ended for many long standing members, in a ban. It would be a sad ending for a member who joined in 2006.

You know the rules of the site. Anyway, following complaints received the images in question have been removed.

We don't routinely check the EXIF on images posted, but trust members to post Pentax images.

As most people know, I run 2 systems (as do quite a few members on here) and have been quite vocal at times about the moderation with regards to discussion of other brands. I have to say though that first and foremost this IS a Pentax site and while I do get annoyed with the way things are handled here sometimes I do agree that non Pentax photos shouldn't be posted on the forum.

Discussion though is another thing entirely ....

I agree, but in all fairness every other Pentax forum I have visited allows other brands, whether it be chatter or images, maybe now in 2014 it maybe worth this site moving with the times to assure its future for many years to come.

But then again you asked for our ideas for this site and that you stated things are going to be improved for the better, this was months ago and still nothing?

What about images taken using a canon body and a Pentax lens?

Oh one last thing, BW stated it was a mistake and just a habit he has got into, so maybe a PM by the OP or to a mod so that they could PM BW,

This was just spoiling for a fight that was not needed and just plain daft...

I would imagine that most members on here own more than one camera, along with my K3 and a lot of glass, i also have a Fuji & Samsung compact.
Removing images not taken with a Pentax really seems incredibly childish, and if it continues, i really do not see much of a future for this forum.
We all love photography, and the bulk of posts will be Pentax related, but please make room for other brands from time to time.
