I used to love the Two Ronnies. Especially their spoof news section. One of my favourites was:

32, working full time in an office, with a young family, definitely looking to retiring. There are so many things I'd like to do given my leisure that I haven't got time to do at the moment. However, getting old doesn't look much fun - I'm not sure I'll bother with that bit!

47 and still working in an office, I lost interest in work years ago but my wife and family's needs outway mine, so probably continue working for the foreseable future.

Old?..Moi?.........Well at school of course we only used 'technical' cameras, and shutters were simply not allowed. At the start of a session one selected a lens from a plan-drawer full of large panel mounted Tessars hoping to find one relatively free of scratches...
Time exposures were the norm - 30 seconds at f32 anyone? achieved by use of the lenscap. It may even have been possible to stop these lenses down to f64 ?

I wonder what one of those Tessars is worth today?
