New K-7 Specifications.

My main gripe with the K10D.

Good point Max, I'm doing it somewhat of a diservice I should have mentioned 100% coverage before, that is a major plus point...

Why does it have faster AF though (did I miss something?).

Apparently its very important to Canon and Nikon users.
I must admit after using a friends D90 I couls see that Pentax is lagging behind a bit there.
Very helpful for sports shooters so Im told.

btw, I wonder why they have 2 continuous mode?

JPEG: 5.2 FPS: Until 40 Frames;
RAW(PEF): Until 15 Frames;
RAW(DNG): Until 14 Frames

Continuous (Lo):-
JPEG: 3.3 FPS: No Limitation, until Card Full;
RAW(PEF/DNG): Until 17 Frames

Yes you're right, I don't have a k20d so didn't notice it.

What I meant with the special feature, I believed that someone said here that they would come with something no one else has... Don't see anything really special.
They didn't say something about AF in movie mode but since the liveview AF works with Contrast Detection that might mean they do have AF with video. Most standard camcorders use that so why not the K-7?

Edit: cold resitance... does that mean it has insulation?

Well.. It all looks very nice and it is a step up from the K20D but still it will not make me want to buy it.
The K20D still amazes me after about a year working with it and I still haven't been using it to it's full potential.

There are however a couple of things which make the K-7 good in my opinion:

1) 100% coverage viewfinder
2) Liveview seems something actually useable (not a marketing gimmick like on the K20D)
3) higher resolution LCD screen

I am somewhat dissapointed by the video modes, it doesn't support full HD resolution (1920x1080).
There is no work if the 720 mode is 720P or 720i.
I don't know what the competitors are offering in terms of video resolution.

Nikon D90 offers 1280x720 640x424 320x216 24fps (720p)
5 min in HD, 20 min all other modes

Nikon D5000 Image size (pixels) 1280 x 720; 24fps, 640 x 424; 24 fps, 320 x 216; 24 fps HD 5 minutes, others 20 minutes

Canon 5D mkII offers 12 minutes of full HD at 1920x1080p, or 24 minutes of SDTV at 640x480 resolution, up to 4 GB @ 30frame/s

Canon 500D
1920 x 1080 (1080P, 16:9) @ 20 fps
1280 x 720 (720P, 16:9) @ 30 fps
640 x 480 (4:3) @ 30 fps
Up to 29 min 59 sec (or max file size 4 GB)

Pentax K-7 offers 1280x720(p?) 640 x 416 1536 x 1024 30 Frames Per Seconds, not yet know if limited in time.

yes sorry stefan, and i know what you mean about something else no one else has, i was thinking the same thing, i recon its the weather proof lens(in the kit),

I have to say im not really that impressed if thats the true spec.
People are saying useable Live View a Big Plus but other cameras had a very useable live view over a year ago.
HD - Old Tech Also now.
Higher Res LCD - Old Tech.

In all honesty if they want to shift these they will need to be priced around £700 max and even then i doubt many would move from the K20D.

My reasons for my opinions are these options have been available on other makes for about 8 months to 2 years now (certain options 8 months, others around 2 years now) and if they were an important option for you then you would have bought another System by now.
