Latest Cashback Offer

If I do anything through the cashback site Quidco I normally DO expect it to go wrong, and usually I am not disappointed.

Quidco I am not familiar with, but it sounds as if they have disappointed you!

No change - after 7 weeks the message is still "not verified yet".

It took 4 weeks for someone to get around to acknowledging receipt of my application, so perhaps it takes another 4 weeks to check that the SRS receipt and the barcodes are not fake

...........daft point, but the wording of the "Cashback" :

£50 cashback is available on purchases of £650 ....so what if you pay £651 ? Or as in my case £475...

The ON word could mean - exactly and over

or it could mean - up to

I assume my £475 will NOT qualify for a rebate

You could ask Pentax, but I would interpret that as meaning if you spend £650 and over you get £50 cashback, until you reach the next specified spend level when the amount increases.

Well i posted mine on the 23 dec via recorded delivery and it says on the royal mail site that it is still in the system being processed so i wander if royal mail have either lost it or the company is closed over christmas/new year? if royal mail have lost it i am not sure what to do really - luckily i took a photocopy of the reciept for warranty purposes anyway - however the website states that my "claim has not been verified yet" so perhaps they have recieved it but the post office never got a signature? who knows -looks like both sides are a bit of a shambles

As far as I can ascertain the cashback is handled out of 'serviced offices' in Fortis House in Barking, Essex.

I would suspect that the company handling the cashback on behalf of Pentax was closed from Christmas Eve through to 4th January 2010. Since then the Royal Mail may have been having delivery problems due to the snow.

After my application had been received at Fortis house, it took 4 weeks for the message on the website to be corrected

If you telephone the helpline, you end up talking to a very pleasant lady (different one each time) generally with less than perfect English somewhere in Europe.

Some more progress today

When I check on the status of my claim it now states :-

"- your application is in order"

I have just received this email from Pentax:-

Thank you for taking part in our PENTAX cashback promotion.
We can confirm that we have received your claim and that it meets the terms and conditions of the promotion.
You will receive your cashback via bank transfer within 10 working days.

I have now received that e-mail as well (as of today)

Mine still states "Your claim has not been verified yet " I wonder if it ever will.

It takes about 8 weeks to get past that message

Hyram, I think I'm a week or so behind you in the queue - my claim was sent 1st week of December.

Not long now then - my claim was received by 'Pentax' on 16th November and from my experience it would appear to take about 8 weeks to get past the verification stage
