I managed to give mine a quick test today and suspect I have a black spot that has not shifted with a sensor clean, unfortunately the clean wasn't as successful as I'd have liked and it was my last swab so I couldn't do it again, I realy must invest in one of those Polar Moths or whatever

The black spot doesn't look like dust spots do and it looks exactly the same before the clean as it did after, there are other spots but that could still be dirt on the sensor so I'm keeping an open mind on this and will wait till we get more info from Pentax.

Serial starts 3822

Let's hope Sony are responsible.

It will be a drop in the ocean to them.

Mine has no spots at all (flash shot of my fridge door), and the ser # starts 3865....
In terms of production batches, I bought it from Jessops (sorry, only local place I could pick it up from).

Hmmmm. Take that back. Tried again, and there's a very faint spot in middle of the bottom right quadrant of the frame.

If my experience working for them a couple of years ago is anything to go by I would not be surprised.

Then Nikon D7000 has probably the same problems then or not?

Doesn't seem to have affected Nikon D7000s or Sony A55s, perhaps there's something about how Pentax fitted the AA filters

The D7000 does have an odd "hot pixel" effect during video (not all D7000 examples). Nikon have responded immediately announcing a firmware fix? No other tech issues reported.

I was looking at a K5 for Xmas and the D7000 as a second Nikon body. I'm now on hold on the K5 until I see how pentax sort this.

Best regards
