Currently on a Pentax hiatus until an FF Pentax is released

Clever marketing I guess, charge another £300 for what's basically the same camera as all the rest - one for the fanboys I think

The funny thing is the limted version here goes for around the 1000 pound, not that much more then the normal version.
Find it amazing that much is asked for it in the UK...

Have to agree smeggy unless you buy ltd's only your lenny's wouldn't match and sigma don't do a bigma in silver
Could say the same thing for the silver bodied metal film SLRs like the ME Super... Black and silver go well together.
I like the look of this special edition, but it all comes down to whether it looks or feels plasticky or painted-on... I know the camera is metal-clad but I presume the silver is just a paint finish rather than exposed metal.

I'm sure the K5 Limited will be the same in a few years.
Time was, you bought a camera to suit your needs, and stuck with it for many years. Not so any more. It seems we've got used to the idea that we must have the latest piece of a-n-other gear, whether we actually need it, or not.

An example might be a wedding photographer using a gold plated camera, which has been known.
I can see a white DSLR being appropriate for shooting weddings.
Best regards, John
What does the colour matter, really. K10D Grand Prix bodies in used condition nowadays are worth little more than a normal K10D.

You have a point, but it's great to have a choice. I prefer the limited version, it will surely look great with silver lenses, and it will be different from many other brands' cameras.
Will it make me a better photographer? Definitely not. Will it make me a happier one? Definitely yes!

Indeed, nothing at all, but if they make them, some poor fool (me, now) will buy 'em. Arguably, the colour of a car doesn't help you drive any better, but people still choose and buy whatever colours are marketed to them. Gone are the days of the Model T. I think what I'm trying to say, is, that it's nice to have a choice, hence why I previously bought Silver FA Limiteds too.
Very much looking forward to shooting with it as the high ISO output of my K200D is one of the only things I don't like about that camera.
